Animation sets (AnimSets) are resources that can be used with all entities that have an Anim host property (CAnimHost). The editing structure of an animation set is as follows:

Animation set
Contains animations.
Animation
Contains envelopes.
Envelope
Contains channels.
Channel
Contains one value per frame.
Frame
Defines a time position in the animation.

The channel values per frame are used to animate the entity through time.

Animation Set

An animation set holds one or more animations. Since CAnimHost can list more than one animation set resource, different animation sets should be used to separate logically distinct animations for easier handling.

Animation sets are managed in the animation editor. In the bottom right corner of the viewport there are three dropdown menu fields, the first of which displays the selected animation set or, if multiple animation sets are selected, the number of selected animation sets. If no animation set is selected the dropdown menu field says '(none)'.

The animation set dropdown menu field holds two dropdown menus:

  • With LMB.png a dropdown menu is opened with
  • a list of all available animation sets, and
  • the Actions entry that opens the Actions dropdown menu.
  • With RMB.png the Actions dropdown menu is opened directly.
Animation set list

The dropdown menu lists all animation sets that are available in CAnimHost. An animation set can be selected by clicking LMB.png on it. Multiple animation sets can be selected/deselected with ⇧ Shift+LMB.png.

  • Rename animset...

  • Delete animset
Deletes the selected animation sets.

Animations

Animations are the resources that are called in order to animate an entity. They hold one or more envelopes which define distinct aspects of the animation.

Animations are also managed in the animation editor with the second dropdown menu field in the bottom right corner of the viewport that displays the selected animation or, if multiple animations are selected, the number of selected animations. If no animation is selected the dropdown menu field says '(none)'.

The animation dropdown menu field holds two dropdown menus:

  • With LMB.png a dropdown menu is opened with

  • the Actions entry that opens the Actions dropdown menu.
  • With RMB.png the Actions dropdown menu is opened directly.
