Keyboard Shortcuts List

This page lists most of the common keyboard shortcuts in SED3. If you have more essential shortcuts, please keep this list updated.

Overall:

  • Alt+~ or Alt+3 --- Open Entity Browser ("EntityList")
  • Alt+1 --- Open Properties (Layers in mesh editor)
  • Alt+2 --- Hide/show Log
  • Alt+4 --- Open Resource Commander
  • Alt+8 --- Open Explorer
  • Alt+B --- Show Palette
  • Ctrl+I --- Import
  • Ctrl+N --- Create new document ("Select type of document to create")
  • Ctrl+O --- Open files...
  • Ctrl+P --- Preferences
  • Ctrl+S --- Save document
  • Ctrl+F --- Find
  • Ctrl+G --- Enable/disable Guide
  • Ctrl+Alt+H --- Show Journal history
  • Ctrl+Alt+D --- Show Databoard
  • Ctrl+Shift+T --- Open "Select texture to (re)create" window
  • Ctrl (hold down with an object selected) --- Grid align tool (Used to move and rotate objects/meshes!)
  • Num + --- Select all objects, polygons, etc
  • Tilde (below esc) --- Deselect all objects, polygons, etc
  • Num * --- Invert selection
  • Shift+Alt+6 --- Hide/show Variables
  • Shift+Alt+7 --- Hide/show Debug config
  • Shift+Alt+9 --- Hide/Display menus
  • Shift+Alt+0 --- Hide/show the bar on bottom of the window
  • T --- Start simulation (enter testing mode)
  • Q --- Open Tools (e.g when creating a primitive in mesh editor)

World Editor

  • Insert --- Insert a static model entity
  • A --- Align view to currently selected entity (useful for controlling camera!)
  • N --- Show list of all entities in the world
  • Ctrl+Alt+LMB --- Link entities (e.g when choosing ChapterInfo entity for the first chapter property of WorldInfo...)

Mesh Editor

  • Ctrl+D [with two intercepting polygons selected] --- Select band of polygons, for instance a section of walls
  • Ctrl+A --- Align mesh to grid (may make positioning easier)

In simulation mode (ingame)

  • F10 --- Open menu, just like pressing esc in the real game
  • F11 --- Take screenshot
